This weekend the BRANDiD team has been at #seedhack, an annual hackathon run by Seedcamp, who’s focus this year is on fashion & online retail. Of course, we had to represent.
44 hours into the 72 hour event and it’s been a blast so far. The core BRANDiD team of myself, @arush and @spacenick have been augmented by the skills of fashion blogger @thefashioncloud and iOS developer @marmalroy. This means that we’ve been able to do two awesome hackathon projects instead of one.
The first is a special version of BRANDiD that allows our super-technically-inclined customers to shop via command line. It is most definately the quickest & manliest way to shop. Ever.
Our second project is an ambitious attempt to yet again save men from the perils of the high street. ManBag is an iPhone app that allows women to leave their shopping in the store once they’ve made a purchase and when they’ve finished their handsfree shopping spree ManBag collects all their bags and delivers them to their home or hotel. This means that the boyfriend / husband isn’t required to accompany their other half on the arduous and painful task of shopping on the high street.
We’re always looking for ways to make the shopping experience for men as painless as possible, so in true BRANDiD fashion we’ve made two hackathon projects that do just that.
